GENERAL MUSICAL INFORMATION

We recommend attending the Parent Information Meeting first, so you’ll know what you are getting involved in. We answer the most common questions that new families have. The next Parent Information Meeting is:

Next Meeting: May 20, 2010 * 7-8 pm * Fellowship Baptist Church

Musical Audition Requirements: Please review the Director’s page for audition hints and expectations. These are also covered in the Parent Information Meeting.

Registration Fee: If cast, there is a $125 registration fee and a $50 costume deposit. Cast members are also responsible for shoes, undergarments and a student make-up kit. If you drop out of the musical, there are no registration refunds issued. Your $50 costume deposit is returned after you return your entire costume, including accessories. You can participate in both musicals the total registration fee will be $150.

Rehearsals: When we are in rehearsals for only one musical, practices are held on Monday and Wednesday from 4:00-6:00 pm. When we are performing two musicals at once, Production #1 rehearsals are Monday and Wednesday from 4:00-6:00 pm, and Production #2 rehearses on Thursday afternoon (4:00-6:00 pm) and Saturday morning (9:00-11:00 pm). All rehearsals are at Fellowship Baptist Church.

Vacations: Please note ALL potential conflicts (absences, arriving late, leaving early, dentist appointments, vacations, prom, auditions for cheerleading/dance/flag team) to the rehearsal schedule when you audition. We cannot guarantee that we can work around ANY absences. Do not assume that we are not rehearsing during your school break/vacation, as we are working with kids from 6-7 school districts, all with different schedules. If you have more than two absences listed, it may be difficult to cast your child. If you are absent during the final two weeks of rehearsal of the musical, it may not be feasible to cast your child in this musical or only consider them for participation only in the ensemble.

PERFORMANCES: August 13-22

Once Upon a Mattress is casting up to 60 teens (12 years & up). Rehearsals Monday and Wednesday (4-6 pm) in June and July. Synopsis of the musical http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Once_Upon_a_Mattress. There is an excellent DVD of the recent TV movie starring Tracy Ullman and Carol Burnett.

Once Upon a Time is casting up to 60 elementary students (Currently in 1st-8th grades). Rehearsals Thursday (4-6 pm) and Saturday (9-11 am). This is a musical revue written by Debbie Wolgemuth and will feature fairy tale characters singing show tunes. Lots of opportunities for individual soloists, group singing and dancing!
